Dental Services: Root CanalsInside each tooth is PULP which contains the nerves and nutrients that keep the tooth healthy. If this pulp gets sick or the nerves are damaged, the tooth will hurt and require a root canal. The root canal process involves creating an opening in the top of the tooth, removing the "sick" pulp, putting some medicine inside to kill the bacteria, then filling the tooth. The next step is to get a crown on that tooth to keep it protected. Root canals usually require 1-2 trips to our office, during which we will make sure you are kept as comfortable as possible. Root canals are routine procedures that Dr. Palm performs regularly. |
